Gong Xi Fa Cai!

We never miss the opportunity of celebrating Chinese New Year in Joyful Kids Montessori School. Hearing from our students their ideas and experiences on this event makes it more exciting as they are going to celebrate this festivity with their friends in school.

A few days ago, most of our students came in their Chinese New Year attire. Each one of them flaunted themselves and showed off their attire to their teachers and friends. Our activity started with the usual greeting time in class to prepare them for the lined up activities. Each class was also brought outside at the playground area for their class photo. As soon as they were back, they gathered together downstairs for a combined PowerPoint presentation from some of our teachers.

The presentation was very informative for them as they were taught about Chinese New Year, what do Chinese people do during this time of the year. They also had a chance to eat and share their pot-lucked food with their friends. They also experienced lion dance in class which they all enjoyed.

Our celebration did not end there as we also had our Open House for our dear parents and visitors. And as our students leave, they were given a red packet with golden coins (chocolate) and an orange as a giveaway. We cannot thank you enough for all the support that the parents gave for this event to be meaningful for all of us. Once again, we wish all the Chinese families of Joyful Kids Montessori School a happy new year and may you all have prosperous year!
